new producers alliance
2006 marks the thirteenth year of the New Producers Alliance – the national membership and training organisation that provides training and support for emerging film producers and filmmakers.
Each week the NPA undertakes a number of core activities including industry networking, producer training programmes, business breakfasts, script and producer writer development courses, master classes and screenings. It also supplies members (through its monthly newsletter, website and weekly email) with current industry information as well as articles dealing with all the elements of production, legal and finance which are essential for emerging filmmakers.
The New Producers Alliance also lobbies on behalf of emerging filmmakers to ensure that they continue to have a voice at the highest levels of the industry. It also works in close collaboration with organisations such as the regional screen agencies,
the UK Film Council, BAFTA, BECTU, Directors Guild of Great Britain, Skillset, CINEGUILDS, Women in Film & Television, Black Filmmakers Network and the UK Media Desk, as well as international organisations such as the IFP in the USA and various Canadian Film Commissions.
The New Producers Alliance provides relevant and current training and information, as well as an industry networking forum, to ensure that it continues to be an organisation ‘by filmmakers, for filmmakers’, supplying an essential pathway for emerging filmmakers into the film industry.
